“Women of Balochistan face far greater deprivations than those in other parts of the country,” says Syed Aman Shah, Awaam Pakistan Party, Balochistan

Karachi ( ): The third meeting of the Women Wing Balochistan of the Awaam Pakistan Party was held in Quetta under the chairmanship of Provincial Convener Syed Aman Shah. The meeting was attended by Provincial General Secretary Prof. Dr. Haleem Sadiq, central Women Wing leader Ms. Fatima Atif and local leaders including Ms. Fatima Khan, Ms. Sana Malik, Ms. Hinza, Ms. Sana Suleman, the provincial spokesperson for Balochistan and other women members.

The primary objective of the meeting was to strengthen the organizational role of women in the province, assess the challenges they face, and formulate future strategies. A detailed discussion was held on the current socio-political and economic conditions of Balochistan, with a special focus on the serious issues faced by women regarding education, health, employment and security.

Participants emphasized that women in Balochistan suffer from significantly more deprivation than those in other parts of the country, and there is a pressing need to highlight these issues at the national level.

Addressing the meeting, Syed Aman Shah, Provincial Convener Balochistan, stated that the women of Balochistan are brave, hardworking, and talented, but lack of adequate opportunities and platforms has stifled their growth. He reaffirmed that the Awaam Pakistan Party is taking all possible measures to empower and engage women in political and social processes. He urged the Women Wing to complete organizational structuring from Union Council to provincial levels to ensure representation from every area.

Ms. Fatima Atif, while addressing the meeting, emphasized the need to form teams for reorganization of the Women Wing in each district and proposed the submission of a special report to the central leadership outlining the fundamental issues faced by women in Balochistan. She further announced that an awareness campaign would be launched across the province to raise political consciousness among women.

Speaking at the meeting, Fatima Khan stated that policy recommendations and an action plan would be finalized in the next meeting. The Women Wing of Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan is emerging as a committed, empowered, and dynamic platform that will continue its struggle to secure the rightful place of women in the province.
