The Sindh government recently organized sports events across seven districts, including Malir, Larkana, Mithi, Sujawal, Badin, Nawabshah, and Nowshero Feroze, to commemorate Independence Day. Over 1,500 athletes participated in various competitions, such as taekwondo, kabaddi, shooting ball, football, badminton, and children’s races.
In Malir, District Sports Officer Sunny Parvez successfully hosted the “Meraq-e-Haq” Inter-District Taekwondo Championship. The event saw participation from over 200 athletes from different districts. Winners were awarded certificates and prizes at the conclusion of the event.
In Nowshero Feroze, Sports Officer Shahbaz Khan organized a kabaddi tournament, where Pupu Rajpar’s team emerged victorious with 12 points.
District Sports Officer Abdul Rahim Rajput hosted a shooting ball tournament in Shheed Benazirabad, with eight teams participating. The Friends Shooting Ball Club from Nawabshah won the tournament, taking home the winner’s trophy, certificates, and cash prizes.
The Sindh government’s objective behind organizing these sports events is to provide healthy entertainment to the youth and celebrate Independence Day with fervor. By promoting sports and physical activity, the government aims to foster a spirit of competition and teamwork among young athletes .
