Swat – District Police Officer (DPO) Swat, Umar Khan Gandapur, has said that the overall security situation in Swat is stable and there is no cause for concern. He expressed these views during a conversation with our this correspondent at his office in Gulkada on Friday.

The DPO emphasized that a large number of police personnel have been deployed across the mountainous regions of the district, including Gwalirai, Dabsar, and other sensitive areas.

“Police are fully equipped and prepared to respond to any situation,” he stated.

DPO Gandapur further informed that search and intelligence-based operations are being carried out regularly in various parts of the valley to ensure peace and stability. “I am personally monitoring the security situation, and everything is well under control,” he said.

In response to a question regarding tourism, he reassured that all tourist destinations in Swat are safe and under strict security arrangements. “Tourists from across the country can visit Swat without any fear,” he said, adding that maintaining peace in the region is the top priority of the police.

The DPO also appealed to the locals, to remain vigilant in their neighborhoods. “If anyone notices any suspicious activity or person, they should immediately inform the nearest police station,” he urged.
