Sindh Workers Welfare Board to Distribute Electric Bikes Among Minority Community Employees, Including Women
Karachi, August 10, 2025 : The Sindh Workers Welfare Board will distribute electric bikes among minority community employees, including women, on the occasion of Independence Day. Highlighting the symbolic importance of the white color in the national flag, which represents the rights of minorities, Secretary Labor Rafiq Qureshi reiterated the government’s commitment to worker welfare.
During the announcement, Qureshi outlined several new initiatives. A major investment of Rs 3 billion in Sukuk bonds, in accordance with Shariah principles, will strengthen the institution’s financial stability. Employees will now benefit from improved accidental health insurance, providing coverage of Rs 700,000 annually for medical care at 270 designated hospitals across the country.
Moving beyond the construction of flats, the board will now focus on building solar-powered houses for employees. Schools run by the board will also transition to solar energy. Students will receive two sets of school uniforms each year.
To ensure equitable distribution of benefits, all departments of the Workers Welfare Board are being digitized. Furthermore, on the Chief Minister’s orders, the death grant has been increased to Rs 1 million, while the marriage grant will now range from Rs 300,000 to Rs 500,000.
