Rescue and Relief Efforts to be Accelerated in Areas Affected by Recent Monsoon Rains: AJK President
Islamabad, August 16 (SPECIAL REPORT): Azad Jammu and Kashmir President, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and widespread property damage caused by the recent monsoon rains across the state. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls and patience for their loved ones.
Chaudhry directed the Azad Kashmir government and local authorities to expedite relief and rehabilitation efforts. He urged them to provide essential assistance to the affected populations, including food, medical supplies, temporary shelter, and other necessary resources. He emphasized the importance of proactive and sustainable measures to prevent such disasters in the future.
The President also ordered the improvement of the Azad Kashmir Disaster Management System. He stressed minimizing the loss of life and property damage during natural disasters, ensuring prompt assistance to victims, and their speedy rehabilitation.
