Karachi, August 17
(SPECIAL REPORT): Provincial Minister Nasir Hussain Shah stated that the Sindh government, under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, is actively pursuing the completion of public welfare projects. The 2.1 million housing project is progressing rapidly, with 800,000 units already completed.
The Sindh Rural Support Organization has empowered over 1.2 million women, promoting their financial independence. Minister Shah, mentioning Sindh’s attractiveness, said it’s the only province experiencing net internal migration. However, the large influx of people to Karachi presents urban planning challenges.
Shah emphasized every Pakistani citizen’s constitutional right to reside anywhere in the country. He mentioned a novel scheme devised by Najma Alam for informal settlements. Significant infrastructure improvements, including new link roads and loops, are being made to ease Karachi’s traffic congestion.
