Executive Director Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) Prof. Dr. Asif Bashir along with renowned neuro-physician Prof. Dr. Qasim Bashir announced that a Stroke Awareness Event will be held on August 18, 2025, at Bashir Auditorium, Lahore. On this occasion, Pakistan’s first Electric Stroke Ambulance, the first Provincial Stroke Awareness Video, and state-of-the-art treatment facilities will be inaugurated.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony will be Mr. Khawaja Salman Rafique, Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education (SH&MED). Stroke management experts from across Punjab will share insights on recognizing symptoms, timely diagnosis, advanced treatment, and preventive strategies.
Prof. Dr. Qasim Bashir emphasized that the launch of the first Provincial Stroke Awareness Video will serve as a milestone in raising public awareness. He further highlighted that the introduction of Pakistan’s first Electric Stroke Ambulance is proof of the government’s commitment to providing modern and safe patient transfer facilities for timely treatment.
The event will also announce special initiatives for immediate patient care, while the participation of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Rescue 1122, and philanthropists will help broaden the scope of the awareness campaign.
Prof. Dr. Asif Bashir and Prof. Dr. Qasim Bashir appealed to the media to actively support this national awareness drive by spreading knowledge, raising public consciousness, and joining medical experts in the mission to combat stroke and save precious lives.
