Tight Security at Churches Across Punjab on Easter, Search and Sweep Operations Underway

Lahore, August 17, 2025 :  Christians in Lahore and across Punjab celebrated Easter Sunday services amidst tight security.  Punjab’s top police official, Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, directed regional and district police commanders to enhance security measures around churches.  These measures included the deployment of additional police personnel and snipers at sensitive locations. Search and sweep operations were conducted near churches, Christian neighborhoods, and other important areas. Dr. Anwar also appealed to religious leaders, representatives of the Christian community, and peace committees to promote interfaith harmony.
