CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Meets Japanese Senior Deputy Minister For Foreign Affairs H.E Matsuo Takehiko in Tokyo

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif held an important meeting with Japan’s Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E Matsuo Takehiko. She along with a delegation, met at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Commerce in Tokyo. Matters pertaining to introducing Japanese technology in the sectors of transport, agriculture, industry, environment, public health, and IT in Punjab were discussed.

 

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz invited Japan to manufacture and assemble hydrogen and hybrid cars in Punjab. She while speaking on the occasion said, “We want to provide Japanese-made tractors, super seeders, threshers, modern agricultural technology and machinery to the farmers of Punjab.”

 

She outlined, “Japanese companies will participate in manufacturing and supply chain in the special economic zones of Punjab.” She informed the Japanese minister about Punjab government policy to provide all agricultural commodities, equipment and machinery to the farmers of Punjab under one roof.

 

She apprised, “A facilitation desk has been established in Punjab, removing every obstacle for the foreign investors.” She underscored, “Punjab Investment Board and the ‘SIFC’ provide guarantee of facilitation for foreign investors at the federal level. They are establishing a favourable investment ecosystem in Punjab.”

 

She also invited the Japanese investors to launch projects in the field of AI, robotics, and gaming in Nawaz Sharif IT City. The Chief Minister also invited them to invest in Japanese modern technology and treatment projects in the Nawaz Sharif Medical District.

 

She affirmed, “We want to expedite development process in Punjab by benefiting from the experiences of Japan. We are making Punjab an ideal business hub.” She revealed, “Green Industrial Zones and Small Industrial Zones are also being promoted in Punjab.”

 

The Deputy Minister warmly welcomed Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her delegation on their arrival. The Deputy Minister appreciated the Punjab government’s spirit of enhancing cooperation with Japan in various sectors. Senior Vice Minister Matsuo Takehiko also appreciated the business-friendly initiatives being launched in Punjab.
