Swat – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Provincial Deputy General Secretary and former Tehsil Nazim, Fazal ur Rehman Nono, has demanded that the government immediately declare Swat a disaster-hit area following the recent heavy rains and floods that devastated Mingora and other parts of the district.
In a press statement, Nono said the calamity had wreaked havoc across Swat, leaving victims in dire circumstances. He urged the federal and provincial governments to take emergency measures for the immediate relief and rehabilitation of flood-affected families.
He stressed the need for a coordinated policy and transparent action plan to ensure that no deserving family is deprived of assistance. “Relief agencies must expedite their efforts and address the concerns of victims who are facing severe hardships,” he said.
Nono called on both the central and provincial leadership to play an active role in supporting Swat’s flood victims and ensuring a swift and fair rehabilitation process.
