Karachi, August 19, 2025 Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon expressed deep sorrow and concern over the devastating floods in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. He stated that on the instructions of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former President Asif Ali Zardari, the party has mobilized all its resources. Party workers are actively engaged in providing aid to the victims.
Memon said that Bhutto and Zardari have directed that every affected family be provided assistance. He reiterated the PPP leadership’s commitment to supporting the victims during these challenging times. The minister appealed to all political parties for unity, emphasizing joint efforts to cope with this natural disaster.
He highlighted the plight of thousands of families affected by the floods. Memon appealed to federal and provincial authorities, as well as charitable organizations, to help the affected population. He emphasized the importance of providing essential aid such as food, medical assistance, clean drinking water, and temporary shelter.
Memon assured the Sindh government’s solidarity and pledged full cooperation. He attributed the recurring natural disasters in Pakistan to climate change and stressed the need for a coordinated strategy among all regions to mitigate the impact of such calamities. Memon expressed condolences and sympathy to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir, emphasizing the importance of national unity during this difficult time.
