Islamabad, August 24, 2025  The anniversary of Amir-e-Shariat Syed Ataullah Shah Bukhari was observed at the Civil Quran Academy under the Pakistan Peace Council. Tariq Mehmood Madani said that Bukhari’s entire life highlighted opposition to only two forces: British colonialism and the Fitna Qadiyanism. Madani emphasized Bukhari’s deep Islamic faith and mentioned his special focus on the Quran.

Quoting Shoresh Kashmiri, Madani mentioned the captivating eloquence of Amir-e-Shariat. It is said that Bukhari’s words had the power to melt mountains, bend caves, move rocks, calm seas, enhance the beauty of trees, and even make pebbles respond with devotion. His speeches could transform scorching winds into gardens and shake the earth. Yet, he chose to address those whose minds were barren, whose souls were weary, and whose understanding was hungry.

Responding to questions, Madani accused the heirs of the British Raj of labeling the true freedom fighters against British rule and their organizations as enemies of Pakistan to advance their personal agendas. He clarified that Amir-e-Shariat, along with other prominent figures like Maulana Hussain Ahmed Madani and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, had made their stance clear after the creation of Pakistan. Their initial view was that the sacrifices of the Muslims of the subcontinent were for freedom from British rule, not for the creation of a separate country. However, they acknowledged that the emotional slogan “Pakistan ka matlab kya, La Ilaha Illallah” penetrated deep into the hearts of Muslims, swaying public opinion in favor of the Muslim League’s vision, and ultimately leading to the creation of Pakistan
