Karachi, August 24, 2025 : Amidst rising concerns of insecurity and dacoity in Sindh, Jamaat-e-Islami has rejected the Anti-Terrorism Law, deeming it undemocratic. Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh’s Ameer, Kashif Saeed Sheikh, criticized the law, calling it an insult to democratic principles and a politically motivated move. He questioned the effectiveness of such laws in addressing the root causes of terrorism and advocated for a comprehensive strategy that goes beyond mere amendments. He pointed to the historical context of 1971, emphasizing the gravity of constitutional violations. Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s Ameer, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, will visit Hyderabad on Friday, August 29, 2025. He will address a press conference at 4 pm at Markaz-e-Tableegh-e-Islam to discuss the deteriorating security situation in Sindh. He will be accompanied by provincial leaders and district Ameers from affected areas, including Kashmore, Ghotki, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad. The press conference will focus on the unrest and dacoity in the province.
