Islamabad 21-08-2025: Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, led an inter-provincial meeting to iron out details for the celebration of Ashra Rehmat ul Lil Alameen from the 1st to the 12th of Rabi ul Awwal. He shared that the festivities will be celebrated suitably at both national and provincial levels. The minister also said that, in accordance with resolutions passed by the National Assembly and the Senate, Seerat gatherings are being organized nationwide.
In light of the 1500th anniversary of the Holy Prophet’s (peace be upon him) birth, he called on provincial and local governments to involve the youth and educate them about the Seerat un Nabi . The minister pointed out that the aim of these celebrations is to have in-depth discussions about the life of the Prophet , giving younger generations the right knowledge and guidance.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs is gearing up to host the 50th International Seerat un Nabi Conference in Islamabad. This year’s theme is: “State Responsibilities in Educating and Training for the Positive Use of Social Media – In Light of the Teachings of the Holy Prophet ”
He indicated that programs under Ashra Rehmat ul Lil Alameen should take place in colleges and universities, with religious seminaries and modern educational institutions collaborating on events that allow students to voice their opinions. He stressed that we need to work together to tackle modern challenges in line with the Prophet’s teachings, saying society must protect its education system, economy, social norms, and family values from negativity.
“Today’s social issues arise from our neglect of the Holy Prophet’s example. His mission was about guiding humanity towards the right path. As members of the Ummah, it’s our shared duty to spread his Seerat and amplify his message,” remarked Sardar Muhammad Yousaf. He also noted that in this social media age, sharing Islam’s message has become simpler and more accessible.
The meeting saw the participation of AJK Minister for Auqaf Hafiz Muhammad Ahmad Raza Qadri, Parliamentary Secretary from Balochistan Shahnaz Umrani, along with federal and provincial secretaries from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
