SPECIAL REPORT. ISLAMABAD.AUG.30
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has achieved a significant breakthrough in its ongoing campaign against synthetic drugs, particularly ice, by foiling a major international narcotics and arms smuggling operation. In an intelligence-based operation, ANF successfully intercepted a large consignment of narcotics and arms that were being smuggled via sea route to foreign countries.
During the operation, ANF raided a secluded compound near Pasni’s coastal belt and recovered 187 kilograms of ice and 225 modern pistols from a well. The narcotics and arms were hidden in 187 packets and were likely being smuggled to Yemen and Tanzania. A vehicle parked in the compound was also taken into custody.
The ANF has initiated an investigation to apprehend the suspects involved in the smuggling operation. The operation highlights the growing problem of narcotics production in Afghanistan, which is contributing to the rise in smuggling-related issues in Pakistan. The country is often used as a transit route for narcotics trafficking.
The ANF is utilizing modern technology and intelligence to keep a close watch on international narcotics smuggling groups operating in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
– All possible measures are being taken to prevent the use of Pakistani territory for smuggling purposes.
– Despite limited manpower and resources, the ANF remains committed to combating narcotics smuggling and other crimes across the country.
The successful operation is a testament to the ANF’s dedication to protecting Pakistan’s borders and preventing the spread of narcotics and organized crime.
