The Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan, Syed Mehdi Shah, has approved new rules for recruitment to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). According to the new rules, 50% of DSP positions will be filled through promotion, 32% through direct recruitment, and 18% through transfer.
The Governor stated that this initiative is crucial for ensuring transparency, merit, and better professional performance within the police department. The new system will provide equal opportunities for promotion within the police force and enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies.
The approval was granted after recommendations from the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Haji Gulbar Khan, the Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Federal Public Service Commission.
