Quetta, Sep. 1, Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, met with the UNICEF Country Representative in Pakistan, Pernille Aayrnside, to discuss key initiatives in healthcare and education. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration to improve public services in the province.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s efforts to eradicate polio and strengthen routine immunization programs. He also underscored the importance of technical support and capacity-building for healthcare staff, which UNICEF has offered to provide.
The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to reforming the healthcare and education sectors, with a particular focus on primary healthcare. He noted that significant resources have been allocated for this purpose and that contract-based recruitments are underway to address the shortage of personnel in these sectors.
Both sides agreed on the importance of effective coordination in implementing public welfare projects. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the support of international partners, including UNICEF, in advancing healthcare and education initiatives in Balochistan.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continue working together to improve the lives of the people of Balochistan through enhanced healthcare and education services.
