On the martyrdom anniversary of veteran Kashmiri liberation leader Syed Ali Shah Gillani, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry paid a heartfelt tribute to the iconic resistance figure. In his special message, the President said that Geelani dedicated his entire life to the cause of Kashmir, courageously enduring hardships, imprisonments, and unrelenting suffering.He recalled that despite spending the last twelve years of his life under captivity and battling severe illness, Gillani’s unwavering spirit remained unbroken. “Neither the chains of imprisonment nor the trials of ill health could weaken his resolve for freedom or diminish his steadfast ideological commitment,” Barrister Chaudhry remarked.He described Gillani as a man of remarkable perseverance and a fearless advocate of Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan. “His lifelong struggle is an eternal source of inspiration for generations of Kashmiris. Despite all odds, the people of Kashmir will keep his mission alive and uphold the ideals he so valiantly stood for,” the President affirmed.
