According to officials, 32 shops and 18 milk supply vehicles were thoroughly inspected
QUETTA: The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has intensified its campaign to ensure the supply of pure and quality milk in Quetta. During a large-scale operation, special inspection teams set up checkpoints at Nawan Bypass, Hazarganji, Jatak Stop, Mecongi Road and Gawalmandi Chowk.
According to officials, 32 shops and 18 milk supply vehicles were thoroughly inspected. On-the-spot testing of 6,220 liters of milk and large quantities of yogurt was conducted through mobile laboratories.
The crackdown led to the destruction of 110 liters of adulterated milk and 270 kilograms of substandard yogurt, while 13 violators were fined heavily for breaking food safety laws.
Food Secretary Manzar Javed Ali reaffirmed that ensuring pure and safe dairy products is the top priority of the provincial government. He warned that adulterators will face strict legal action and will not escape BFA’s accountability.
The BFA’s mobile laboratory teams remain active day and night in Quetta and surrounding areas to provide citizens with healthy and safe food in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Balochistan.
