KARACHI: A tragic shooting incident in Karachi’s Memon Goth area claimed the lives of three transgender persons on Sunday, police confirmed.

 

According to officials, unidentified attackers opened indiscriminate fire, leaving all three victims dead on the spot. Police contingents reached the crime scene and launched an investigation, while the motive behind the attack remains unclear.

 

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah strongly condemned the killings and directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to ensure immediate arrest of the culprits.

 

“The killers of the transgender persons must be arrested at all costs and a detailed report should be submitted to me,” CM Shah ordered.

 

He stressed that the transgender community is one of the most vulnerable segments of society and must be treated with respect. “The state will not tolerate the killing of any innocent citizen,” he added.

 

Authorities have started a thorough probe, and the Chief Minister has sought a complete report on the incident.
