Islamabad –Sep.24 In a landmark move, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has launched a new digital disbursement system to return recovered funds to victims of financial frauds. The initiative began with the B4U scam victims, who have started receiving their money directly into their bank accounts without the need to visit NAB offices.

According to an official statement, NAB Islamabad/Rawalpindi successfully transferred Rs. 878.709 million to the accounts of 5,008 victims in a single day, setting a record as the largest and fastest disbursement of its kind in the Bureau’s history.

NAB Chairman hailed the step as a “milestone achievement,” emphasizing that the new mechanism has been designed to make the refund process simple, transparent, and efficient. He remarked, “Our victims will no longer be burdened with repeated visits to NAB offices to claim their money. By leveraging technology, we are ensuring that the process of fund disbursement is secure, smooth, and free from delays.”

The Bureau further disclosed that the digital system has been developed in collaboration with the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), which will serve as the official partner bank for secure online transfers. This agreement with NBP, officials said, would institutionalize the refund process, strengthen public trust, and eliminate past procedural hurdles faced by victims of scams.

The B4U case is one of the largest financial scams unearthed by NAB, where thousands of citizens were defrauded through false investment schemes. With the introduction of this digital disbursement system, NAB has taken a decisive step toward restoring public confidence and ensuring justice for the victims.

Observers believe the move reflects NAB’s broader strategy of adopting technology-driven solutions in its operations. By prioritizing efficiency and transparency, the Bureau aims not only to return looted money to its rightful owners but also to reinforce its credibility as Pakistan’s premier anti-corruption institution.

The Chairman reiterated NAB’s commitment to continue its efforts for the recovery of looted wealth, adding that further initiatives are in the pipeline to modernize its operations and strengthen accountability mechanisms across the country.
