Deputy Commissioner Sibi Reviews Polio Campaign Preparations

Sibi, September 25, 2025 – Deputy Commissioner Major (R) Ilyas Kabzai chaired an important meeting on the upcoming polio eradication campaign, with the participation of law enforcement officials, health officers, WHO representatives, and religious scholars.

The meeting reviewed preparations for the campaign scheduled from October 13 to 16, 2025. The DC was informed that Sibi district has a population of 224,148, including 29,899 children under five years and 85,555 children under fifteen.

A total of 285 teams have been formed, including 226 mobile teams, 40 fixed sites, and 19 transit teams, to administer polio drops door-to-door across 25 union councils.

The DC emphasized that the polio campaign is a national responsibility, and strict measures will be taken to ensure no child is left unvaccinated. He directed officials to update micro-plans, enhance team training, and ensure 100% coverage.

He appealed to parents to administer polio drops to their children, terming it the only way to protect future generations. Religious scholars were also urged to spread awareness during sermons.

It was highlighted that during the last campaign, Sibi ranked second nationwide with 100% coverage, earning appreciation for its polio teams.
