Quetta, September 26, 2025 — Passenger train service Jafar Express, operating between Quetta and Peshawar, remains suspended for the third consecutive day due to damaged railway tracks near Spezand.

According to Pakistan Railways officials, the service was halted after an explosion on the track caused several coaches to derail. The derailed bogies have now been cleared from the site, but restoration of the affected railway track and bridge is still in progress.

Authorities confirmed that repair work is being carried out on an urgent basis to restore full train operations. The suspension has left hundreds of passengers stranded, forcing them to rely on alternative means of travel.

Railway sources expressed hope that once the damaged section is fully restored, Jafar Express will resume its regular schedule.
