The District Polio Eradication Committee (DPEC) convened an important meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Lasbela, Ms. Humaira Baloch, to finalize preparations for the upcoming National Polio Campaign starting October 13, 2025.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on effective execution, potential challenges, and integrated strategies for the campaign. District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Hameed Baloch provided a briefing on the current polio situation and set the target of vaccinating all children under five across the district.
Deputy Commissioner Humaira Baloch stressed that polio is a deadly disease, and achieving its complete eradication is a national responsibility. She urged all families to cooperate with health teams and ensure that no child is left unvaccinated.
The meeting also included representatives from SSP Lasbela, NSTOP Officer Dr. Shehla, and Edhi Balochistan In-Charge Dr. Abdul Hakim Lasi. It was unanimously agreed that polio teams would receive full security support and maintain close coordination among all departments to ensure smooth implementation of the campaign. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to parents to actively support the campaign to protect their children from lifelong disability.
