Provincial Conference at Governor House Peshawar: “Countering Extremism through Strong Communities and Poverty Alleviation”

Peshawar, September 26, 2025:
Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, attended a provincial conference at Governor House Peshawar as the chief guest. The conference, organized by the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), focused on strengthening communities and reducing poverty to counter extremism in the province.

The event was attended by Member of National Assembly and Focal Person of Prime Minister’s Youth Program Syeda Amna Batool, Secretary of the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) Humaira Zia Mufti, CEO PPAF Nadir Gul, and other distinguished officials.

During the conference, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi inaugurated PPAF-supported infrastructure schemes and the Olive Project. He also inspected various stalls and distributed certificates to trained youth, along with interest-free loans to skilled women entrepreneurs.

Addressing the participants, the Governor said that poverty is the root cause of social inequalities and extremism. He emphasized that collective efforts to ensure equality and justice are essential to eradicate poverty and counter extremism. Faisal Karim Kundi further stated that a prosperous and peaceful future is linked to economic and social development, and promoting a positive image of the province remains a top priority.

He highlighted the importance of a fair and equitable system across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the country, adding, “Our mission is a peaceful and developed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and we will achieve this goal successfully.”
