Ghizer, September 28 – Chief Justice of Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Court, Justice Ali Baig, inaugurated a fully digitized court records system and a computerized copy branch in Ghizer district courts. The system introduces a QR code–based verification mechanism, ensuring certified copies of cases are available within two minutes.
At the inauguration ceremony, attended by judges, lawyers, senior officials, and civil society members, Chief Justice Baig stressed that the judiciary’s core mission is to provide timely, transparent, and affordable justice. He said the use of modern technology has become indispensable and termed the new initiative a “historic milestone” for the judicial system of the region.
The digitization covers all decided and pending case records, ensuring protection against tampering or loss. Chief Justice Baig noted that despite limited resources, the Gilgit-Baltistan judiciary has built a model that surpasses many other high courts in adopting technology for justice delivery
