London, September 28, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan is rapidly advancing on all fronts, including the economy, foreign relations, and defense, having achieved economic stability and now poised for sustainable growth.

Speaking with delegations of overseas Pakistanis during his visit to the Pakistan High Commission in London, the Prime Minister noted that the country’s economy had faced difficult times in the past. He emphasized that the current government’s successes are the result of sincere effort, teamwork, and dedication from all involved in achieving national objectives.

“We can overcome challenges and achieve progress through cooperation, consultation, sincerity, and sustained efforts,” he added, highlighting Pakistan’s respected standing in the international community.

PM Shehbaz Sharif recalled his address at the United Nations General Assembly, where he represented the Pakistani people, raised the issues of Kashmir and Palestine, and advocated for global attention to their struggles. He expressed hope that the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir would achieve their long-awaited freedom. He also condemned atrocities in Gaza, where over 64,000 Muslims, including women, children, and the elderly, have been killed, stressing the need for peace and an end to oppression.

He further described his constructive and productive meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, noting that it will serve as a milestone for strengthening Pakistan-U.S. relations.

The Prime Minister emphasized that overseas Pakistanis are a valuable national asset and dedicated ambassadors of Pakistan, serving their homeland with commitment.

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar praised the Prime Minister’s effective representation of Pakistan at the UN General Assembly. He highlighted Pakistan’s engagement with eight countries—including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan itself—on the Gaza issue, noting that positive outcomes are expected.

Ishaq Dar added that the Pakistani leadership held around two dozen bilateral meetings during the UNGA session, consistently advocating for Kashmir, Palestine, and Gaza before the international community.

He also recalled that when PM Shehbaz Sharif assumed office in April 2022, he safeguarded Pakistan from economic default. Despite the previous government’s mismanagement, Pakistan has now achieved economic stability, with interest rates falling from 22% to 11% and inflation reduced from 30% to 5%. These improvements are expected to reduce poverty, increase per capita income, and drive sustainable development.

Overseas Pakistanis lauded PM Shehbaz Sharif’s address at the 80th UN General Assembly, noting that it powerfully highlighted Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir and Palestine. Delegates expressed pride in the Prime Minister’s globally recognized speech and its impact in raising international awareness of these critical issues. PM Shehbaz Sharif also recorded his impressions in the guest book at the Pakistan High Commission.
