Pishin, September 28: Deputy Commissioner Mansoor Ahmed Qazi, in his message on the occasion of International Right to Information Day, said that access to information is a vital tool for transparency and accountability in governance. He highlighted that Article 19-A of the Constitution provides every citizen the right to seek information of public importance from any government department, autonomous body, or semi-autonomous institution.
He explained that under the RTI Act, District Information Officers are bound to provide the required information within 14 days unless it relates to national security or public interest. The DC stressed that effective implementation of the RTI law can help eliminate corruption and strengthen good governance. He further directed the Public Relations Department to ensure timely communication of government policies to the public, thereby enhancing mutual trust and cooperation between the people and state institutions.
