Bajaur, September 29, 2025 – Pakistan Army troops have successfully defused an explosive shell left behind by terrorists in Bajaur’s Ghaki village, just two days after a tragic incident in Mamond tehsil claimed the lives of four children.

According to security officials, the explosive device had been deliberately abandoned by militants, endangering the lives of innocent civilians, especially children. Timely action by the Army’s bomb disposal team averted another tragedy.

Security forces urged local elders and residents to exercise extreme caution and immediately report any suspicious materials or unexploded ordnance to the authorities to prevent further casualties.

The operation holds added significance as on September 27, children in Mamond’s Laghari area were killed and injured when an abandoned explosive device detonated while they were playing. Four children were martyred and five others sustained injuries in the blast.

Locals recalled that this is the same area where terrorists recently circulated a video showing themselves playing cricket with children, a deceptive tactic aimed at luring youngsters into their trap.

The Pakistan Army reiterated that the so-called militants, under the guise of jihad, have continued their brutal practice of planting explosives near civilian areas, causing devastating harm to innocent people. The victims, as in most such cases, are young children.
