Acting President Gilani Hosts Senators’ Luncheon at Aiwan-e-Sadr to Discuss National Issues

Islamabad, Sept. 30, — Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani hosted a luncheon at Aiwan-e-Sadr today in honor of senators from various political parties, highlighting the importance of parliamentary dialogue and cooperation in addressing national challenges.

The meeting reviewed the political situation at home and abroad and took stock of ongoing relief and reconstruction efforts in flood-affected regions. Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry also discussed key matters related to their ministries.

The luncheon was attended by prominent senators including Sherry Rehman (PPP), Manzoor Ahmed Kakar (BAP), Ali Zafar (PTI), Ata-ur-Rahman (JUI-F), Hidayatullah (ANP), and Amir Chishti (MQM).

Acting President Gilani emphasized that inclusive dialogue, political engagement, and collective efforts among parliamentary representatives are essential for strengthening democracy and ensuring the welfare of citizens.
