Khuzdar, Sep.30,
The All Parties Citizens Action Committee of Khuzdar has withdrawn its call for a shutter-down and wheel-jam strike after successful negotiations with the administration and Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) officials.

The strike had been announced against prolonged and unannounced electricity load-shedding that severely disrupted business and daily life. Two rounds of negotiations were held, where Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar Yasir Iqbal Dashti played a key mediating role. The first round, hosted by President Anjuman Tajiran Khuzdar Hafiz Hameedullah Mengal, highlighted public grievances, while the second round was held at the DC office with QESCO Superintendent Engineer Karam Bakhsh and other officials.

QESCO representatives acknowledged the difficulties caused by power outages and assured improved supply while urging timely bill payments to reduce financial shortfalls. Following these assurances, the Citizens Action Committee announced withdrawal of the strike call scheduled for October 1 and 2.

Committee Chairman Bashir Ahmed Jatak said, “This is a victory for the people, as constructive dialogue has led to relief for citizens. We will continue positive engagement for public issues in the future.”

The outcome was widely welcomed as a demonstration of constructive cooperation between Khuzdar’s citizens, traders, and the district administration.
