Quetta, Oct 3, – Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that youth are a valuable asset and the future builders of the state, while teachers serve as their guiding light. Proper guidance from teachers can bridge the gap between the state and young citizens.
The statement came during a meeting with faculty heads and members from various universities, where discussions focused on the role of media, fact-checking, social values, and mutual societal responsibilities.
CM Bugti noted that effective editorial checks in the past ensured accurate news dissemination, but with the advent of electronic and social media, these checks weakened. In today’s social media era, the line between truth and falsehood has become very thin, impacting societal behavior.
He highlighted that introducing 3G and 4G services without strong social values and infrastructure led to the spread of false propaganda, distancing youth from the state, and promoting popularity over truth.
The Chief Minister urged teachers to guide students through research and clarification to properly mentor the next generation. He stressed that the relationship between the state and citizens is built on mutual rights and responsibilities, and grievances should not be addressed through violence.
CM Bugti also acknowledged the sacrifices of all ethnic groups—Baloch, Sindhi, Pashtun, Punjabi—in the creation of Pakistan, emphasizing that the country belongs to everyone. Reforms have been introduced in Balochistan to improve governance, with 16,000 contract teachers recruited to reopen 3,200 closed schools and healthcare facilities established for the first time in several areas.
He affirmed the government’s commitment to provide basic facilities to citizens enduring harsh weather conditions, emphasizing that quality education depends on modern requirements, not just infrastructure or mass hiring, and efficient use of available resources is key to sustainable development
