GB Chief Minister Condemns Attack on Maulana Qazi Nisar, Orders Swift and Transparent Probe

GILGIT, Oct 5 (Special Report): Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan has strongly condemned the attack on the prominent cleric and leader of Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Maulana Qazi Nisar, calling it a cowardly attempt to disturb peace in the region. The Chief Minister said that the terrorists and perpetrators involved in the incident would be brought before the law and given exemplary punishment.

He asserted that no conspiracy against the peace and stability of Gilgit-Baltistan would be allowed to succeed. CM Haji Gulbar Khan directed the Inspector General of Police and law enforcement agencies to conduct a transparent investigation and ensure the immediate arrest of those responsible.

The Chief Minister also sought a detailed report on the incident from the Provincial Home Secretary. Appealing to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, he urged unity and cooperation to foil the nefarious designs of anti-peace elements and maintain inter-sectarian harmony across the region.
