Grief Beyond Words”
Farah-ur-Rehman — The Light of Hope and the Promise of Bait-ul-Hamd

Life sometimes brings sorrows so deep that words fall short. Among the greatest trials is when parents must lay their own child to rest — a reversal of nature’s order that shatters hearts beyond repair.

This profound tragedy befell our esteemed brother, Advocate Parvez Ahmad, General Secretary of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, whose beloved son Farah-ur-Rehman — the light of hope and the dream of tomorrow — departed this world unexpectedly.

A bright student of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute, humble, sincere, and full of compassion, Farah was a source of pride and joy for his family. Dreams that once illuminated his parents’ eyes were buried in an instant beneath the weight of fate.

Before leaving for his final semester, he told his father: “Baba, I must return to university; it’s my last term.” The father’s heart wished to stop him, but love allowed him to go — unaware that this farewell would be eternal.
A tragic accident silenced his journey, and two weeks later, the shining light of the home was extinguished.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.

What words can console a home that has lost its laughter?
A poet once said:

He left in such a way, the season itself changed —
A single young man turned the city into silence.

Even the Prophets faced such grief. When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ lost his son Ibrahim, tears rolled down his blessed eyes. When the companions asked, “Do you also weep, O Messenger of Allah?” he replied:

> “I am a Prophet of Allah, yet also a father. The heart grieves, the eyes shed tears, but the tongue speaks only that which pleases Allah.”

This is the path of faith — sorrow tempered with submission.

The Prophet ﷺ also gave glad tidings to grieving parents:

> “When the child of a believer dies, Allah says to the angels: ‘Have you taken the soul of My servant’s child?’
They reply: ‘Yes, O Lord.’
Allah then commands: ‘Build for My servant a house in Paradise and name it Bait-ul-Hamd — the House of Praise.’”
(Tirmidhi 1021)

This is the divine promise that comforts the heart of Advocate Parvez Ahmad and his family. Surely, Farah-ur-Rehman’s patience and his parents’ faith will be rewarded with Bait-ul-Hamd in Jannah.

He lives on — as light, as memory, and as sadaqah jariyah for his parents.

Prayer

O Allah, grant Farah-ur-Rehman the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous.
Grant his parents patience, peace, and strength.
Make him a source of continuous reward (sadaqah jariyah) for them,
and envelope the entire family in Your mercy and comfort.
Ameen.
