Balochistan’s Local Government Faces Financial Crisis — Clean-Up Drive Launched in Usta Muhammad by Provincial Minister Faisal Jamali at Personal Expense
Usta Muhammad (Report: Abdullah Magsi):
The local government department of Balochistan has been grappling with a severe financial crisis for the past three months, resulting in unpaid salaries for municipal committee and corporation staff across the province. The payment delay has forced many employees into strike action, causing widespread disruption to sanitation services in several cities.
In Usta Muhammad, the situation reached a critical point as garbage and waste piled up across the city, severely impacting residents’ daily lives. In response, Provincial Minister for Livestock, Sardarzada Mir Faisal Khan Jamali, launched a clean-up campaign at his personal expense to restore hygiene and order in the city.
According to sources, the clean-up operation is now in its fourth day, with municipal teams removing accumulated waste from main roads and various wards. The sanitation system is being rapidly restored, thanks to the minister’s proactive intervention.
The crisis stemmed from the non-payment of municipal employees’ salaries over the past three months, which had completely halted sanitation operations and caused large heaps of garbage in neighborhoods, posing serious health risks for residents.
Citizens have expressed deep gratitude for Minister Jamali’s initiative, noting that his timely efforts have not only restored the city’s beauty but also provided immediate relief in public health and sanitation.
