There are strong indications that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Adviser on Anti-Corruption, Musaddiq Abbasi, and the department’s Director, Sadiq Anjum, may soon be arrested.

According to reliable sources, a special team from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrived in Peshawar from Islamabad carrying formal arrest warrants for both senior officials. All arrangements for their apprehension have reportedly been finalized.

Sources revealed that criminal cases have been registered against Abbasi and Anjum at Shahpur Police Station and Sharqi Police Station, Peshawar. The cases include provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), and warrants for their arrest have already been issued.

It is believed that the FIA team may take both men into custody at any time, as relevant authorities across Peshawar have been placed on high alert.

Meanwhile, government and legal circles are actively discussing the possible political and administrative fallout of the anticipated arrests. Officials within the Anti-Corruption Department have stated that they will present their position strictly in accordance with the law and are prepared to face any ensuing legal proceedings.
