Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sanam Javed was allegedly abducted by unidentified individuals from Peshawar late last night. Acting on the special directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, an FIR was registered at Sharqi Police Station under the petition of Advocate Hira Babar.

According to sources, the incident occurred around 10:30 P.M., when Sanam Javed was heading toward Cantonment after having dinner at the Officers’ Mess. Two vehicles carrying five unidentified men forcibly stopped her car and took her away against her will.

The Chief Minister immediately took notice and instructed the police to take strict action against the abductors. The provincial government confirmed that a comprehensive investigation is underway, and those involved will be brought to justice in accordance with the law.

It is pertinent to note that on August 11, 2025, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore sentenced Sanam Javed to five years in prison in the May 9, 2023 Shadman arson case. Earlier, on April 27, 2024, she was also arrested for allegedly posting propaganda content on social media against heads of state institutions.

Her sister, Falak Javed, was also arrested last month by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in a case involving fake videos of Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari.

Police authorities have confirmed that investigations into Sanam Javed’s alleged abduction are ongoing, and a full account of the incident will be made public once the inquiry concludes.
