Quetta, October 7:
The provincial government is fully committed to ensuring the provision of basic healthcare facilities to the people and will not tolerate any negligence or misconduct in this regard.
Addressing a press briefing at Civil Hospital Quetta, Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr. Hadi Kakar said that the recent incident involving the alleged collection of money for handing over the bodies of a father and son—victims of the Pishin Stop Quetta blast—was thoroughly investigated by the Health Minister, Dr. Bakh Muhammad Kakar, and relevant authorities.
The inquiry revealed that no hospital employee was involved in the act. Instead, the money was taken by a volunteer from a charitable organization, who later confessed to his actions in a recorded video statement.
Dr. Kakar stated that, following the incident, all welfare organizations operating inside the hospital will now be bound to follow a strict Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to prevent any future mishaps.
He added that the identification of the person responsible was confirmed through CCTV footage and witness statements. “As a public health institution, we will not tolerate corruption or negligence in any form,” he emphasized, appealing to the media to highlight the hospital’s reform and improvement efforts.
