RAWALPINDI, Oct. 11 :
Afghan forces initiated unprovoked firing at multiple locations along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, prompting a swift, strong, and effective response from the Pakistan Army, security sources confirmed.

According to security officials, Afghan troops opened fire at several sectors including Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Baramcha (Balochistan) late Saturday night. The firing was reportedly aimed at facilitating the movement of Khawarij formations across the border.

Pakistan Army’s alert and vigilant posts immediately retaliated with full force, delivering a powerful and precise counter-response, which continues at several locations.

Security sources further reported that the Pakistan Army effectively targeted multiple Afghan border posts, destroying several of them. As a result of Pakistan’s timely and decisive action, dozens of Afghan soldiers and Khawarij elements were neutralized.

Reports suggest that Taliban troops abandoned several of their positions and fled the area, leaving behind significant losses.

The sources added that this act of aggression from the Afghan side comes at a time when the Afghan Foreign Minister is on an official visit to India, raising concerns over the timing and coordination of the attacks.

The Pakistan Army remains fully alert, prepared, and capable of responding to any threat to the nation’s sovereignty and security.
