Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, has said that journalists act as the eyes and ears of society, playing a pivotal role in identifying and resolving social issues.
Addressing a reception hosted in honour of senior journalists at the Central Police Office, led by Quetta Press Club President Irfan Saeed, the IG said the relationship between the police and media is one of close collaboration. He lauded the professionalism and constructive approach of journalists in Balochistan, adding that their positive reporting helps discourage miscreants and strengthens social awareness.
“Media plays a significant role in shaping a progressive society, and its constructive contribution in modern times cannot be denied,” the IG remarked. Media Coordinator to IG Police, Ms. Rabia Tariq, was also present on the occasion.
IG Muhammad Tahir congratulated the newly elected President of the Quetta Press Club, Irfan Saeed, and expressed hope that the journalist community would continue to play a positive role in promoting reform and provincial development.
