President Zardari Receives Credentials from Four New Ambassadors, Meets MWL Secretary General, Siemens CEO, and German Envoy

Four New Ambassadors Present Credentials:

Four newly designated envoys presented their credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr. The envoys included Mr. Tarik Ali Khan (Canada), Mr. Abdulaziz Issa (Lebanon), Mr. Robert-Jan Siegert (Netherlands), and Mr. David Pine (New Zealand, non-resident). The President welcomed them, emphasizing stronger bilateral relations, economic cooperation, trade, and investment, particularly in IT, energy, agriculture, and sustainable development.

 

Meeting with Muslim World League (MWL) Secretary General:

Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa visited President Zardari. The meeting highlighted MWL’s efforts in promoting unity, moderation, interfaith harmony, and countering extremism. The President reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Palestine and lauded MWL’s initiatives in education and humanitarian projects.

Ambassador-Designate to UAE Calls on President:

Mr. Shafqat Ali Khan met the President, who congratulated him and emphasized the strategic and historical ties between Pakistan and the UAE, noting the key role of the Pakistani diaspora and UAE investments in energy, infrastructure, minerals, and IT sectors.

 

Siemens Healthineers CEO Meeting:

Mr. Khurram Jameel discussed cooperation in healthcare, digital health, and diagnostics. President Zardari appreciated Siemens’ role in Pakistan’s health sector and reaffirmed government commitment to innovation and investment in healthcare services.

German Ambassador Meeting:

Ms. Ina Lepel, Ambassador of Germany, met the President. Discussions focused on bilateral trade, investment, climate action, women empowerment, education, and social protection. The President highlighted Pakistan-Germany Climate Partnership Agreement and encouraged German investments in renewable energy, IT, and industry.

 

 

Other Highlights:

Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Nadeem Mandviwalla, and Maulana Tahir Ashrafi were present during various meetings. President Zardari emphasized stronger bilateral and multilateral partnerships for mutual benefit
