Administrative and field-level challenges were also discussed. DC Badini emphasized that coordinated inter-agency cooperation and effective strategies are vital to achieving complete polio eradication. He instructed all Assistant Commissioners to maintain close coordination with polio teams, address refusal cases, and educate parents about the importance of immunization. The DC reiterated that Quetta administration is fully committed to achieving the national polio eradication target and will provide all possible support.
In a separate development at the Pak-Afghan border, ADC Chaman Fida Baloch visited the Afghan WED Holding Camp to assess facilities, arrangements, and security for Afghan refugees. He reviewed food, shelter, and administrative arrangements and issued strict instructions to all officers and personnel to ensure that refugees are treated with dignity and ease. He warned that any mistreatment of Afghan residents will result in strict action against camp administration.
The ADC noted that after the recent reduction in border tensions, the Pak-Afghan border has reopened following a four-day closure. All Afghan families previously gathered in Chaman have been peacefully and respectfully deported back to Afghanistan, with the transfer to the holding camp ensuring proper facilities. Refugee repatriation operations are now continuing in an orderly manner.
