Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched initiatives to enhance law enforcement, respond to security incidents, and foster regional peace. Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi approved a new fleet of operational vehicles to strengthen police capacity, including 4 APCs, 39 single-cab pickups, 34 double-cab pickups, 2 Revos, 15 pickups, and 7 other vehicles, along with bulletproof vehicles worth PKR 1.89 billion.
Hangu Blast Condemnation
CM Afridi condemned the recent bomb blast in Hangu, which killed SP Operations and two police officers. An immediate report has been requested from the IG Police, and an apex committee meeting convened to assess the situation. Afridi assured that perpetrators would face justice and appealed to media, tribal elders, educators, and civil society to support anti-terrorism efforts. He prayed for the martyrs’ families and reaffirmed that the attack would not undermine the morale of CTD and police forces.
Khyber Peace Jirga Scheduled
CM Afridi will participate in the Khyber Peace Jirga tomorrow, 25 October 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Dogra, Tehsil Bara, District Khyber. Tribal elders, political leaders, and youth representatives have been invited to strengthen community-led peace and stability. The Khyber political alliance has assured full cooperation.
