State Bank Introduces “Cooling Time” for JazzCash, Easypaisa, and Other Mobile Banking Services

The State Bank of Pakistan has introduced a new security rule for mobile banking platforms, including JazzCash, Easypaisa, and others. Under this regulation, when a user transfers money, the recipient will not be able to withdraw or spend the amount for the first two hours.

This two-hour delay, known as the “Cooling Time,” is designed to protect users from fraud and accidental transfers.

According to the State Bank, if funds are mistakenly sent to the wrong number, the sender will now have a two-hour window to file a complaint and have the transaction temporarily blocked.

The new measure is being hailed as a major step toward enhancing public trust and safeguarding users against financial scams in Pakistan’s growing digital banking sector.
