Special Development Initiative Engineers Review Progress on Key Projects in Kech District

Under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI), Engineer Muhammad Alam visited several development project sites in District Kech on Wednesday to assess ongoing work and progress.

He was accompanied by XEN B&R Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, XEN Irrigation Muhammad Raza, and assistant engineers from civil works departments. The inspection began at Malai Bazaar, where road leveling and gravel spreading were underway. XEN B&R briefed that carpeting will begin once the Local Government completes the sewage line installation.

The team also inspected Government Girls Middle School Zor Bazaar, reviewing repair and renovation work including plastering, tiling, boundary wall restoration, and painting. Engineer Alam instructed staff to maintain construction quality standards.

Later, the team visited the protective embankment site on Kech Nullah, where XEN Irrigation Muhammad Raza informed that the diversion dam and leading cut structure were under construction to redirect floodwaters safely during rains.

At Absar, Engineer Alam reviewed the main highway expansion project, where XEN B&R said widening near the grid station had started to improve traffic flow. Alam directed all departments to ensure timely completion, regular monitoring, and adherence to quality standards.
