Istanbul: Pakistan has agreed to resume negotiations with the Afghan Taliban at the request of the hosts, sources confirmed. The Pakistani delegation, which was preparing to return home, will now extend its stay in Istanbul to continue the dialogue.

Sources stated that the decision to continue the talks reflects an effort to give peace another opportunity and strengthen stability in the region.

The negotiations will focus on Pakistan’s longstanding demand that Afghanistan take clear, verifiable, and effective action against terrorists operating from its soil. Pakistan has once again emphasized that Afghan territory must not be used for planning or executing acts of terrorism against Pakistan.
