The Quetta bench of the National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC) ruled that a 100% cut in Pakistan Television Corporation employees’ House Rent Allowance (HRA) is illegal. The office order issued on July 4, 2025, was declared null and void.
Member Abdul Ghani Mengal stated that HRA is a part of employees’ service conditions and cannot be terminated without a bipartite agreement. Future adjustments will only occur through negotiations with the Collective Bargaining Agent (CBA). Employees who suffered cuts after July 2025 will be reimbursed.
