The Chaman crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan remains completely sealed for the 28th consecutive day following clashes on October 10. Trade and pedestrian movement are at a standstill, causing millions in losses for traders. Sporadic exchanges of fire between border forces were reported again, followed by a temporary ceasefire that allowed the repatriation of Afghan refugees to resume.

Sources said Pakistan-Afghanistan talks are underway in Istanbul, where discussions include border reopening, trade, and cross-border movement. Security at Chaman remains on high alert as negotiations continue.
