Khuzdar: Rising incidents of killings, robberies, and street crimes over the past few days have sent waves of fear and anxiety through Khuzdar city. Residents say no area now feels safe, with the perceived inefficiency of local law enforcement further deepening the sense of insecurity.
In one of the latest incidents, unknown armed assailants opened fire near Arbab Complex, killing a man in broad daylight. The attackers escaped without resistance, causing widespread panic among bystanders. On the following day, a similar tragedy occurred in Bolan Colony, where another individual lost his life in a shooting. These consecutive murders have left citizens increasingly distressed.
In addition to violent crimes, street crimes and drug-related activities are reportedly out of control. Cases of mobile phone snatching, motorcycle thefts, shop robberies, and muggings have surged, while open drug selling has disrupted daily life across neighborhoods. Citizens criticized the police for their ineffective performance, noting that even where checkpoints exist, law enforcement strategies appear weak and uncoordinated.
Local residents warned that the growing crime wave has emboldened criminals, leaving the public feeling vulnerable. They have urged the Commissioner of Quetta Division, IG Police, and district administration to take immediate action to curb rising crimes and conduct strict operations against murderers, criminal gangs, and drug traffickers to restore safety and public confidence in Khuzdar.
