NASIRABAD, Nov 25 — In preparation for the Rabi season, the irrigation department is carrying out emergency cleaning and clearing of the Rabi Canal to ensure uninterrupted water supply to farmers. Provincial Minister for Irrigation Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Secretary Irrigation Suhail Rehman Baloch, and Chief Engineer Canals Nasser Majeed directed the operation, which is being supervised on-site by Executive Engineer Pat Feeder Canal, Fareed Ahmed Pandrani.
Heavy machinery is being deployed for rapid clearance, and officers including Sub-Divisional Officer Hafiz Abdul Rasheed Mastoi, Sub Engineer Wasim Berani, and Darogha Khuda Bakhsh Bahrani are overseeing the work.
Fareed Ahmed Pandrani stated that canal obstructions due to dense shrubs had been hindering water flow, affecting irrigation. So far, 26 RDs have been fully cleared, with remaining sections being worked on swiftly. The department remains committed to providing farmers with consistent water supply throughout the Rabi season.
